A solid platinum, diamond and ruby ring with eighteen carat yellow gold center mounting. This beautiful and rare ring was made by the leading name in American luxury fine jewellery; Tiffany & Co.. The ring consists of a solid platinum shank with eighteen carat yellow gold claw setting for the center ruby. The center stone is surrounded by two tapered baguette cut, beautifully bright and clean diamonds. Each diamond is estimated to be 0.2 carats each, VVS clarity and F colour. The overall look is a combination of perfect jewellery making and the highest level of gem selection.

The center ruby is what people crave for in this magnificent and mesmerizing stone; wonderful strong colour and clearness. Thai Rubies display a Royal Red, often with attractive secondary purple flashes, due to their higher iron content reducing fluorescence. While deeper toned than Burmese Rubies due to an absence of light being evenly scattered by silk, Thai Rubies usually display a superior clarity. This very much being the case with this gem. The center stone is accompanied by the globally recognized certification from the GIA Laboratory where it has been tested. The report reads that the stone is a brilliant cut oval stone, a natural ruby with heat treatment to enhance the colour, as is most often the case. The size of the ruby is just over one carat in weight.

The inside of the shank is stamped with the Tiffany & Co. makers mark, "PT 950" for Platinum, and "750" for the eighteen carat gold mounting claws. This is a very rare ring that is not a production piece from Tiffany. This was likely a special order ring, or one that was purchased from the flagship store in New York, that was over $20,000 when new, twenty years ago. The ring is in perfect condition throughout, comes in the original Tiffany & Co. box and is accompanied by the GIA certificate for the ruby.
